A Brief Biography of Dennis Grittner

Dennis Grittner

•  Born in October of 1943 in Vanport. Oregon while my father served in the South Pacific.

•  Moved to Saint Paul, Minnesota immediately after WWII, then to West Saint Paul in 1946.

•  While in High School I played the male lead in both my Senior Class play and the Junior Class Play.

•  Met my wife Judith campaigning for John Kennedy in 1960.

•  Competed in Cross Country and Golf in both High School and College.

•  Graduated from West Saint Paul Sibley High School in 1961.

•  Received an Evans Scholarship and an American Legion Scholarship for Patriotism upon graduation..

•  Attended the University of Minnesota, then Grossmont Junior College in El Cajon, California.

•  Worked as an Engineering Technician for the Minnesota Highway Department 6+ years.

•  Worked in Sewer Engineering for the City of Saint Paul then became Computer Servicex Manager for the Department of Public Works.

•  Worked as Webmaster for the City of Saint Paul.

• Retired in October of 1999 after 34+ years of Public Service for the State of Minnesota and the City of Saint Paul

•  Active in the Labor Movement for many years.  Unpaid president of Local 1842 A.F.S.C.M.E. for 7 years. Secretary-treasurer of the Saint Paul Trades and Labor Assembly, Sergeant-at-Arms for Saint Paul Trades and Labor Assembly,  Council 91 A.F.S.C.M.E. Board, founding member of the Twin Cities Coalition of Labor Union Women. P.E.O.P.L.E. Committee, C.O.P.E. Committee.

•  Active in Democratic Politics at all levels since the age of 17.

•  Married my wife and best friend, Judith in 1986.  

•  Moved to Arizona in 1999 and became resident in 2001. Moved to Prescott Valley in 2003

•  Member of Granite Peak Congregation in Prescott.
